Nearly 20,000 UK students collected T Level results this year

Almost 20,000 students in England collected T Level results on Thursday (13 August), up from around 12,000 in 2025, with more than 90% passing.
The Department for Education put the rise at over 65% more students receiving T Level results than last year, the largest cohort since the technical qualification launched.
T Levels run over two years and combine classroom study with an industry placement, and sit alongside the V Levels the government is introducing as part of its overhaul of vocational education.
Plans announced by the Prime Minister will also let students aged 14 and over combine academic subjects with technical education linked to local employers.
Amazon took on 30 T Level students as apprentices this year across roles including mechatronics and cyber security.
What the A Level numbers show
A Level entries graded C or above stood at 78.1%, up 0.4 percentage points on 2025 and 2.7 percentage points on 2019. Grades at A or A* reached 28.3%, up 0.2 percentage points year on year.
Both measures remain above pre-pandemic levels.
A record number of students received A Level maths results, with entries up 3.7% on last year and A and A* grades in the subject up 0.6 percentage points. Entries across science, technology, engineering and maths subjects rose 3.7%.
Universities accepted 2% more students onto higher education courses than in 2025, and 194,800 English 18-year-olds got their first-choice institution, a 1% increase. Enrolments in construction through vocational technical qualifications climbed by nearly 20%.
“I want to congratulate everyone receiving their results today,” said Prime Minister Andy Burnham. “It’s brilliant to see more students succeeding in T Levels, more taking maths and STEM subjects, and more young people progressing to the next stage of their education or training.”
“The rise in students receiving T-Level results this year is very encouraging, as well as so many students progressing in to higher education,” said Education Secretary Lucy Powell. “There is no single route to achieving your ambitions.”
