London tube and train disruptions this weekend: 15-17 May

Key Points

  • Minimal disruptions are expected this weekend, but issues on a few lines could still cause unexpected delays or detours.
  • The DLR will be shuttered on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, as well as between Shadwell and Tower Gateway during the day on Sunday.
  • The Central line will be partly closed on Saturday, and service changes will affect a few Overground lines over the course of the weekend.

While travellers in London should be relatively unimpeded this weekend, there are a few disruptions to key Underground and Overground lines to look out for when planning your journey.

This is according to the latest travel status information from Transport for London (TfL), which lays out the expected disruptions to the London transport network over the coming days.

On Friday, most services are operating normally, with only minor service changes on the Mildmay and Suffragette Overground lines. However, TfL has announced that the DLR will not operate after 23:30pm on both Friday and Saturday evening.

On Saturday, good service is expected on all lines except the Central Underground line, which will not operate between Marble Arch and Leytonstone all day.

This disruption to the Central line is expected to continue through Sunday, when the Elizabeth line will also be partly closed between Paddington and Ealing Broadway in the early morning.

On Sunday, the Mildmay line will run additional trains between Camden Road and Stratford for the Hackney Half Marathon, and the Windrush line will be partly closed between New Cross Gate and West Croydon / Crystal Palace.

Replacement bus services are running throughout the weekend where necessary to address line closures. Note that Waterloo & City services do not operate on the weekend.

Below are the planned tube and train closures for this weekend in London:
