Lidl has announced that it will scrap Coupon Plus, the monthly rewards feature in its Lidl Plus app, from Tuesday (5 May).
Lidl Plus has more than 100 million users globally, according to parent Schwarz Group, although Coupon Plus operates only in Great Britain and excludes Northern Ireland residents.
The scheme has run since 1 April 2025 and offers tiered coupon rewards when monthly qualifying spend hits set thresholds.
Existing customers have until 4 May 2026 to hit their April targets and trigger any final rewards.
Lidl plans to launch a replacement scheme on 5 May but has not disclosed the mechanics ahead of launch.
How Coupon Plus works
Shoppers scan their Lidl Plus card at the till, and qualifying spend accumulates against monthly targets.
Reaching a target triggers an automatic coupon in the app’s Coupons section, which expires seven days after issue.
Lidl deducts the value of any returns or refunds from the running total. Spend does not carry over between calendar months, which makes the 30 April 2026 reset the final cutoff under the existing system.
| Monthly spend | Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| £10 | Free bakery item | Entry tier, lowest spend threshold |
| £50 | Free fruit or vegetable item | Larger produce items typically eligible |
| £100 | Free Fin Carré chocolate bar (100g) | Lidl own brand, refreshed in March 2026 |
| £150 | Free Alesto nuts or dried fruit pack | Lidl own brand |
| £250 | 10% off next shop, capped at £20 | Highest tier, equates to roughly 8% back |
