Looking for a spot to relax near you that’s both in the sunlight and serving pints right now?
As London’s weather finally begins to warm and the days grow brighter, many in the capital will be seeking pubs, bars, and other venues with roof terraces or gardens to soak up some sunlight.
You can always use Google or Apple Maps to see if a place near you is open, and you can check a weather app to see if it is sunny in your area. However, none of these platforms help you find a specific beer garden that is currently in the sunlight.
Enter Sunseekr, a free mobile sunny-beer-garden-finding app that is available to download for Android and iOS.
It offers a digital map that shows pubs, cafes, and restaurants with terraces and gardens, along with a live sunlight projection simulation that uses geometry and weather data to show you exactly which places are currently in the sun at the moment.
The app maps individual outdoor seating areas and calculates sun exposure hour by hour, allowing you to determine exactly when your favourite terrace or garden catches some sunlight.
Venue information is built into the application, providing customer ratings, opening times, amenities, and more. You can also browse nearby places that are trending amongst Sunseekr users.
Notifications can be set up to let you know when your favourite pub is currently catching some rays, or to let you know of new, sunny places to stop for a drink or meal nearby.
The app isn’t limited to London either. It is available in any city, and the company claims it already has more than 250,000 users.
