These are the UK’s most expensive streets

London continues to dominate the UK’s ultra-prime property market, with nine of the top 10 most expensive streets located in the capital, according to the latest analysis from Rightmove.

The property group’s 2026 report, based on asking prices from homes listed for sale in January 2026, shows Winnington Road in Barnet, north London (N2), reclaiming the top spot with an eye-watering average asking price of £12,538,095.

This marks a return to form for Winnington Road, which has frequently featured in previous rankings as one of Britain’s priciest addresses, known for its large detached homes in the desirable Hampstead Garden Suburb area.

Close behind is Chester Square in Westminster (SW1W), with an average of £11,546,428. The prestigious Belgravia square is renowned for its grand stucco-fronted townhouses and proximity to elite shopping and cultural spots.

Rounding out the top five are:

  • The Bishops Avenue (N2, Barnet) – £8,930,650
  • Thurloe Place (SW7, Kensington and Chelsea) – £8,904,545
  • East Road (KT13, Elmbridge, Surrey) – £8,795,714

East Road stands out as the only non-London street in the top 10, and indeed one of very few outside the capital in the broader top 20, highlighting Surrey’s status as a haven for buyers seeking luxury properties away from central London.

Other notable London entries in the top 10 include Ebury Square (SW1W, Westminster) at £8,521,111, Knightsbridge (SW1X, Westminster) at £8,260,000, Wilton Place (SW1X, Westminster) at £7,921,429, Montpelier Square (SW7, Kensington and Chelsea) at £7,405,000, and Cumberland Terrace (NW1, Camden) at £7,400,000.

“Britain’s most expensive streets always capture the nation’s attention and this year we see the return of Winnington Road in North London, as Britain’s most expensive street based on asking prices,” said Colleen Babcock, Rightmove’s property expert.

“In fact, this year’s top 20 is taken up almost entirely by London addresses, showing the city still reigns as supreme when it comes to ultra-prime property. For buyers looking for prestigious roads outside of the hustle and bustle of London, Elmbridge in Surrey is flying the flag for the rest of the country as the only area outside the capital to make the top 20 list.”

Outside London, prices drop significantly even at the highest levels. For context, the most expensive street in Scotland is Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh (EH3) at £560,000, while in Wales it’s Hollybush Road in Cardiff (CF23) at £1,237,500.
