London tube and train disruptions this weekend: 21-23 November

Commuters in London can expect relatively few disruptions when travelling on the Underground or Overground this weekend, with most issues expected for Sunday 23 November.

Travel status information published by Transport for London (TfL) on Friday 21 November shows that only one or two London Underground and Overground services will be disrupted over the weekend.

The London Underground is expected to be relatively unaffected by disruptions, with only the Metropolitan, DLR, and Elizabeth lines posting notice of issues, while the Mildmay and Liberty line will be partly or entirely closed on specific days.

On Friday, TfL expects good service on all lines except for the Metropolitan line, where commuters will have to contend with severe delays between Moor Park and Chesham/Amersham due to a signal failure.

The Metropolitan line is expected to return to good service on Saturday, when the DLR is to be partly closed between Beckton and Tower Gateway and between Woolwich Arsenal and Stratford International. Saturday will also see the Mildmay Overground line partly closed between Gospel Oak and Richmond/Shepherd’s Bush.

On Sunday, travellers in London can expect disruption to the DLR and Mildmay lines to continue, as well as part of the Elizabeth line being closed, with no service between Whitechapel and Shenfield throughout the day. The Liberty line will also be completely closed on Sunday, with no service between Romford and Upminster.

Replacement bus services are running throughout the weekend where necessary to address line closures. Note that Waterloo & City services do not operate on the weekend.

Below are the planned tube and train closures for this weekend in London:

Friday 21 November:

  • Metropolitan – Severe Delays (Moor Park ↔ Chesham/Amersham)

Saturday 22 November:

  • DLR – Part Closure (Beckton ↔ Tower Gateway and Woolwich Arsenal ↔ Stratford International)
  • Mildmay – Part Closure (Gospel Oak ↔ Richmond / Shepherd’s Bush)

Sunday 23 November:

  • DLR – Part Closure (Shadwell ↔ Tower Gateway)
  • Elizabeth – Part Closure (Whitechapel ↔ Shenfield)
  • Liberty – Planned Closure (Entire Line)
  • Mildmay – Part Closure (Gospel Oak ↔ Richmond / Shepherd’s Bush)
