Vodafone launches 5G broadband for £11 a month

Vodafone has announced it will launch 5G Broadband Essentials, a social tariff priced from £11 a month with no upfront costs.
The new tariff targets customers who claim government benefits or who are financially vulnerable.
Vodafone said this will make it the only UK provider offering 5G broadband on a social tariff, and the most affordable social broadband option on the market.
Vodafone launched its 5G Broadband service in May 2026 for households still relying on copper or part-fibre connections.
The service uses Vodafone’s mobile network to deliver home broadband, which the operator said offers full-fibre-like speeds.
Vodafone said 5G Broadband and full fibre together allow it to reach more than 27 million UK homes and premises.
The operator has also introduced a 12-month 5G Broadband plan as a more flexible alternative to full fibre contracts.
Students get a £2 discount, with plans starting from £20 a month, which Vodafone said works out at around £5 each in a four-person house share.
Vodafone’s postcode checker assesses coverage at each address and recommends full fibre or 5G Broadband, depending on which performs better.
