London tube and train disruptions this weekend: 12-14 September
This weekend will see delays and several disruptions across the London tube and train network as TfL recovers from the strike action this week.
According to the travel status information published by Transport for London (TfL) on Friday 12 September, severe delays will plague some Underground lines for the majority of the weekend, while part closures will affect both Underground and Overground services.
Friday 12 September marks the last day of the rolling strike action previously announced by the RMT tube union, which significantly affected travel on the London Underground network.
As a result of the strike, London’s Underground network spent the best part of this past week entirely suspended, with only limited service on the Northern line at times. Commuters in the capital resorted to Overground trains, buses, and bicycle hire schemes like Lime and Forest to get to and from work.
Service has now been largely restored to London Underground lines, although many lines are currently experiencing delays as the network recovers from the effect of the strike action.
The Jubilee and Bakerloo line will be subject to severe delays on Friday and Saturday, which TfL says is a result of the recent strike action. The Metropolitan, Victoria, and Central lines will also experience minor delays on Friday and Saturday.
The network will undergo a number of part closures on Sunday 14 September, with the District, Picadilly, Weaver and Suffragette lines affected.
Replacement bus services are running throughout the weekend where necessary to address line closures. Note that Waterloo & City services do not operate on the weekend.
