This weekend will see hundreds of gardens across London, normally closed or hidden to the public, open to all as part of the London Open Gardens event.
London Open Gardens is an annual event which sees more than 100 gardens in the capital open to the public, from rooftop retreats to award-winning mansion grounds.
Visitors can purchase a ticket for the event, which will give them access to gardens across London, as well as allowing them to enter ballots for specific, popular gardens. They will also be able to book walking and cycling tours of gardens across the city.
Attractions include a ballot for the Battersea Roof Gardens, a residential rooftop garden that neighbours Battersea Power Station and provides an impressive view of the city skyline.
Ticketholders were also able to enter a ballot to visit the gardens at 10 Downing Street, which includes a guided tour of the grounds on Saturday 7 June.
A number of gardens have been added to the programme this year, including Marlborough House and two new rooftop gardens. The gardens at Charterhouse and 25 Cannon Street, which are visitor favourites, will once again open over the weekend.
All proceeds from ticket sales each year support LPG’s work to protect city green spaces, and a percentage of profits are shared with participating community gardens.
