- Court strikes down Trump’s tariffs: A US Federal court has blocked President Donald Trump from imposing sweeping tariffs. The ruling from a three-judge panel at the New York-based court of international trade came after several lawsuits arguing Trump has exceeded his authority, left US trade policy dependent on his whims and unleashed economic chaos. - UK plans to introduce pension megafunds: The government has fleshed out its plans for reforming the UK pension industry, including the creation of £25 billion ‘megafunds’ which will be instructed to make a portion of their investments locally to help fuel economic growth. [BBC]
- Military to deploy AI hackers: The British military is to spend more than £1 billion on artificial intelligence and a hacking attack team, the Defence Secretary has announced. The offensive operations will be conducted through a new Cyber and Electromagnetic Command, which will also oversee a £1 billion investment in upgraded targeting systems using an artificial intelligence “kill web” that connects military systems.
