Vodafone TV launches in October with Netflix and HBO Max included, bringing live TV, streaming, gaming and apps together in a single plug-in hub that needs no dish or aerial.

VodafoneThree announced the service on Thursday (3 September) as part of a wider set of launches built on its 5G+ network, including the new Vodafone SuperMobile plan.

The company said Vodafone TV will be available to new and existing Vodafone customers who hold a home broadband, 5G Broadband or mobile plan.

VodafoneThree said this makes Vodafone the only mobile network operator in the UK to bundle TV with both mobile and mobile broadband plans.

The service runs through a small plug-in hub with 4K picture quality, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos built in, alongside a companion app for viewing away from home.

Netflix and HBO Max come included in the package, with options to add other streaming services on top.

Customers also get everything available on Freely, the free streaming platform backed by the UK’s public service broadcasters, plus more than 150 additional live TV channels.

The hub gives access to more than 300 games and thousands of content apps through the Google Play Store.

The companion app mirrors profiles, recommendations, favourites and gameplay across devices, so viewers can start a programme at home and pick it up elsewhere on the same day.

VodafoneThree said customers who pair Vodafone TV with SuperMobile get faster and more reliable connectivity for streaming on the move, through the dedicated 5G+ FastTrack lane that launched on the same day.

The launch marks VodafoneThree’s first step beyond connectivity since the merger, which the company said reflects the growing convergence of connectivity and entertainment.
