Monzo is raising the price of its Max plan – and adding YouTube Premium Lite as a benefit
Key Points
- Monzo Max + Family rises from £22 to £23 a month on 25 October 2026.
- YouTube Premium Lite, worth £7.99 a month, joins the plan now.
- Customers must cancel or switch by 14 October 2026 to avoid the new price and get a pro-rata refund.
- Max benefits now include Uber One, a monthly Vue ticket, Billsback, 3.50% AER Instant Access savings and a 5.00% AER Saving Challenge.
Monzo is increasing the price of its Max + Family plan from £22 to £23 a month on 25 October, and adding YouTube Premium Lite to the bundle.
YouTube Premium Lite normally costs £7.99 a month and strips ads from most YouTube videos, though it stops short of the full Premium tier that covers background play, downloads and YouTube Music.
Monzo told customers the addition is live now, ahead of the October price change. Details of what the Lite tier covers sit in the Max Home section of the Monzo app.
Max launched with a weekly Greggs item, an annual Railcard, a boosted savings rate, worldwide travel insurance, phone insurance, and breakdown cover across the UK and Europe.
Monzo has since bolted on an annual Uber One membership covering Uber and Uber Eats, a monthly cinema ticket at Vue with 10% off food and non-alcoholic drinks, and Billsback, which refunds more than 1,000 customer bills a month up to a value of £150.
The bank also lowered its Investments platform fee for Monzo Pension holders and extended its Google Sheets export to cover Pot transactions and Pot names.
Savings rates form the other half of the list of benefits.
Max customers earn 3.50% AER (variable) on Instant Access savings, paid monthly, while the Saving Challenge now runs to additional levels and pays 5.00% AER. Monzo attributed the price rise directly to the cost of maintaining the full benefit list.
Cancelling or switching before the change
Customers have until 14 October 2026 to switch to a cheaper plan or cancel, both of which happen in Max Home in the app.
Monzo will refund the remaining paid days of that month for anyone who leaves before the deadline. The bank said it will apply the new price to anyone it does not hear from by that date.
Customers who have already redeemed the Railcard benefit keep it after cancelling, though a Railcard fee may apply under the terms and conditions.
Monzo has updated its Terms & Conditions and Fee Information documents for Max + Family to reflect the price and the new benefit, with current and previous versions published on its website.
