You can now compare your credit score to other people in your UK postcode using ChatGPT

Key Points

  • Experian has a credit score app inside ChatGPT, found by typing "@Experian UK", which shows average UK credit scores by postcode and age
  • The tool uses aggregated, anonymised Experian Credit Score data and does not show a personal score or affect a user's credit rating
  • To use it, users connect the Experian app via the App Store or Google Play, then tag it inside a ChatGPT conversation
  • The app launched in March 2026 on OpenAI's ChatGPT Apps platform, which opened to developers in October 2025
  • Experian flagged the launch in its FY26 results on 20 May 2026 as part of a wider push into AI distribution channels alongside Snapchat and US insurance tools

Experian has launched an app inside ChatGPT showing average UK credit scores by postcode and age group.

Users can find the Experian UK app in ChatGPT by typing “@Experian UK”. The tool draws on aggregated, anonymised Experian Credit Score data to show typical scores for a local area and demographic in seconds.

It does not show a personal score and using it does not affect a user’s credit rating. To activate it, users connect to the Experian app via the App Store or Google Play before tagging it in ChatGPT.

“By bringing the power of Experian’s trusted data into a leading AI platform, we’re giving people a quick and simple way to explore how their credit score compares locally and by age, making it easier for them to sign up to Experian to discover their personalised score and insights,” said Edu Castro, Managing Director at Experian Consumer Services UK and Ireland.

Experian said the launch targets younger consumers. 18 to 34 year olds make up more than half of ChatGPT’s user base but are among the least likely to have checked their credit score, according to the company.

The app sits on OpenAI’s ChatGPT Apps platform, which launched in October 2025 with an SDK for third party developers and opened as a directory in December 2025. The platform lets apps run inside the ChatGPT interface, accessible via an @ tag rather than requiring users to leave the chatbot.

Experian’s UK credit score tool followed a similar US launch in February 2026, when the company put its auto insurance marketplace inside ChatGPT, and a Brazilian financial education tool now runs on the same platform.

In its full year results published on Wednesday (20 May), Experian flagged the ChatGPT launch as part of a wider push into Large Language Model distribution channels.

The company also reported its Snapchat integration reaches over 100 million monthly active US users, and its UK Consumer Services business grew 12% organically over the year with double digit growth in every quarter.

Experian rolled out a redesigned UK credit score with a 0 to 1250 scale in November 2025, which incorporates data such as rental payments and overdraft use.
