- Currys is searching for a new group chief executive to replace Alex Baldock
iD Mobile added around 400,000 subscribers over the year to 2 May 2026, taking its total customer base to 2.6 million, parent company Currys confirmed in a trading update on Tuesday (19 May).
The 18% year-on-year growth makes the Currys-owned MVNO one of the faster-growing players in the UK mobile market, where the four mobile network operators have collectively been losing share to virtual operators running on their infrastructure.
iD Mobile runs on the Three UK network and sits inside Currys’ UK & Ireland division, which the retailer said delivered continued robust trading driven by market share gains and growth in services, B2B and new categories.
Currys does not break out iD Mobile revenue separately in trading updates, but flagged the subscriber number as a standout metric within the UK business.
The growth comes as the wider MVNO segment continues to expand. Smarty, Lebara, Lyca and Voxi have all been picking up customers from the big four networks, with price-sensitive consumers shifting away from contract handsets and toward SIM-only deals.
iD Mobile competes primarily on price and contract flexibility, and bundles offers through Currys’ store estate and website.
Group adjusted pre-tax profit for the year is expected to come in at around £191 million, up 18% year-on-year and ahead of previous guidance of £180 million to £190 million.
Currys returned £74 million to shareholders during the year and finished with net cash of more than £170 million. The company also confirmed the search for a new group chief executive to replace Alex Baldock is progressing.
Full year results are scheduled for 2 July 2026.
