London tube and train disruptions this bank holiday weekend: 1-4 May

Key Points

  • Several disruptions are expected to London Underground and Overground services over this bank holiday weekend.
  • Friday will be relatively free of issues, but the rest of the weekend will see disruptions expected to Metropolitan, DLR, and Elizabeth Underground services.
  • The Overground will also be affected, with disruptions expected to services on the Liberty, Lioness, Mildmay, Suffragette, and Windrush lines.

Many passengers could face delays and disruptions due to several closures and service changes expected to affect several London Underground and Overground lines over this bank holiday weekend.

This is according to the latest travel status information from Transport for London (TfL), which shows that services will be running as normal on Friday, with disruptions only expected to impact the network from Saturday.

On Friday, the only disruption affecting passengers at the time of writing is the severe delays on the Piccadilly line due to an earlier signal failure.

A number of Underground and Overground services are expected to be disrupted on Saturday. The DLR and Metropolitan line will be partly closed, with no services running on sections of their networks.

The Lioness Overground line will also not be running any service between Kilburn High Road and London Euston over the entire bank holiday weekend.

Part closures on the Metropolitan line and DLR will persist through Sunday and Monday, and on Sunday the Elizabeth line will also be partly closed in the morning.

The Liberty line will be entirely closed until 10:30am on Sunday, and the Mildmay, Suffragette, and Windrush lines will be affected by part closures or service changes at various stages throughout the day.

Disruptions to DLR, Metropolitan, Elizabeth, Northern, Suffragette, and Lioness services are expected on Monday, with varying degrees of impacts to passengers.

Replacement bus services are running throughout the weekend where necessary to address line closures. Note that Waterloo & City services do not operate on the weekend.
