Three has been named the fastest mobile network in the United Kingdom, according to the latest SpeedGeo Mobile Internet Speed Ranking for Q1 2026.
The independent report from V-SPEED, which covers the full 12-month period from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, ranked operators by average download speed using data from 100,896 real-world tests conducted on smartphones and tablets across mobile (3G, 4G LTE, and 5G) connections.

Three topped the ranking with a clear lead in download speed at 100.8 Mb/s, more than 30 Mb/s faster than the market average, and was awarded the official SpeedGeo Award Winner for the period.
BT placed second with a solid 81.0 Mb/s download, the best upload speed at 18.0 Mb/s, and the lowest latency at 36.4 ms. Vodafone came in third at 62.7 Mb/s download, trailing both rivals and the market average.
The SpeedGeo report also includes a quarterly trend chart showing Three widening its lead over the past year, with the Three consistently performing above BT, and Vodafone from Q2 2025 through Q1 2026.
Tests were carried out nationwide, with results mapped across the UK.
V-SPEED’s methodology follows ITU-T Q.3960 recommendations, uses traffic-neutral measurement servers, and applies strict fraud-detection and data-integrity filters to ensure the results reflect everyday user experience rather than lab conditions.
Only operators representing more than 3% of tests in the period are included in the final ranking.
The ranking comes as the UK mobile market continues to see heavy 5G investment and increasing demand for high-speed data.
Three’s performance stands out against a market average of 70.4 Mb/s, indicating meaningful differentiation in a competitive sector dominated by a handful of major players.
