ScotGov App: Scotland to launch single-login government app this autumn

The Scottish Government will launch a ScotGov App this autumn, letting people use multiple public services through one login instead of separate websites and accounts.
The commitment appears in the Programme for Government 2026-31, published by the Scottish Government this week and setting out John Swinney’s plans for the new five-year parliamentary term.
The government said the app is intended to be a common platform which enables citizens to engage with multiple services without having to use multiple logins and websites.
It sits within a wider public service reform package built around a “tell us once” approach, under which people give their details to government a single time rather than repeating them to each department.
Supporting that approach, the government committed to developing shared digital and data platforms, common data definitions and shared data sets across public bodies.
It also pledged to accelerate work on Data Exchange, a system designed to make data held by one organisation available to other organisations while protecting privacy and security.
The roll-out of ePass, a common licensing programme, will speed up, and the government said it would use the ePass approach as a template for common systems handling outbound payments and casework.
Self-service and automated options will expand through a “Support Service Challenge” run under CivTech 12, the government’s public sector innovation programme that pairs departments with technology firms.
Health services are moving onto a separate platform, with the government saying the MyCare app will become the most comprehensive health and social care app in the UK once fully rolled out.
MyCare will let patients manage prescriptions, book appointments and receive letters about their care online, and it will be complemented by a new Digital Health and Care Record for every person in Scotland.
The government added that it would develop an AI Hub to accelerate safe adoption of AI across the health and care system and continue rolling out services on MyCare.scot.
It did not give a launch date for the ScotGov App beyond autumn, and it did not list which services will be available at launch.
