Amazon’s minimum UK starting pay has risen to at least £29,744 a year, a 43% increase since 2022.
The retailer raised frontline operations pay by up to 5.9% in 2025, with starting salaries reaching £31,824 in some locations. The increases apply across Amazon’s UK warehouse and logistics network, which the company said continues to lead pay in the sector.
Amazon’s total UK workforce now stands at around 75,000 people across operations, corporate and technology roles, placing it among the country’s top 10 private sector employers and securing it a LinkedIn Top Employer ranking in the UK.
The retail giant said it has created more than 6,000 apprenticeships across more than 60 programmes since 2013, with 1,000 placements in 2025 alone.
The company said 90% of its apprentices go on to secure permanent roles. Its Career Choice programme funds 100% of tuition fees for employees with at least one year of service, covering training in fields including robotics, HR and HGV driving. More than 30,000 UK employees have taken part to date.
Amazon said it has also committed to supporting the UK government’s aim to train 10 million workers in essential AI skills by 2030, equivalent to around 20% of the workforce.
More than 130 young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities will graduate from Amazon’s Supported Internships programme across 26 UK sites this summer. The company is the largest private sector provider of supported internships in the UK.
Amazon’s £40 billion UK investment plan runs from 2025 to 2027 and will fund thousands of full-time jobs, four new fulfilment centres and two London office buildings.
The company has invested more than £15 billion in the UK during the first year of the programme, opening new operational sites, expanding studio production facilities and launching a new London campus in Shoreditch.
Total revenues from Amazon’s UK activities reached more than £30 billion in 2025.
