The Labour Party has published an uncensored version of its controversial party political broadcast targeting Reform UK, after TV broadcasters ordered it to be toned down for being too offensive for broadcast.
The video features an actor reciting a series of inflammatory and controversial statements attributed to Reform UK politicians, senior figures, advisers, candidates, councillors, and MPs.
Key quotes featured in the advert include:
- Comments on NHS funding, suggesting a shift to an insurance-based system where “if you can afford it, you pay. If you can’t, you don’t.”
- Claims linking COVID vaccines to cancer in the royal family.
- Remarks on immigration, race, and London becoming a “third world (shithole)”.
- Statements such as “I’m a racist and I’m proud of it,” views on women belonging in the kitchen, and conspiracy theories involving Bilderbergers, Masons, Rothschilds, and George Soros.
- Other remarks on Grenfell Tower, supporting military action, and Andrew Tate.
An early version of the broadcast was deemed “too offensive” by broadcasters including the BBC and ITV. Labour was required to revise it before it could air as a party political broadcast.
Its release comes amid heightened tensions ahead of UK local elections, with Labour using strong attack advertising to highlight what it sees as extreme views within Reform UK.
Reform has dismissed the advert as unacceptable and misleading in some cases.
