Asda launches ParcelShop service in stores

Evri and Asda has today announced a new partnership that will see the rollout of ParcelShops in all Asda stores – marking a first for a UK supermarket.

The partnership will allow customers to collect and return parcels from thousands of different retailers at their local Asda store, offering added convenience ahead of the busy festive period.

The service has recently launched in over 300 Asda locations, its Express convenience sites and some of its supermarkets and superstores. It will eventually be rolled out to all 1,200 Asda stores across the UK by April next year.

The retailer said that the new service will make it even more convenient for customers to shop with Asda as they can pick up their groceries and collect parcels in one trip.

The announcement follows Evri’s £50 million investment, revealed in June 2025, to double its network of ParcelShops and Lockers to 25,000 locations by 2030.

“This landmark agreement with fellow Leeds-based Asda strengthens our commitment to creating a delivery network fit for the modern UK shopper, directly giving them choice, convenience and control,” said Martijn de Lange, Chief Executive at Evri.

“We are excited about the opportunities this new partnership will bring, helping to us further drive our ambition to expand our capabilities and deliver an even more comprehensive, cost-effective, and customer-focused service across the UK and beyond.”

Express stores

Asda also recently announced that it will ramp up the launch of its smaller Express stores across the UK to target new communities.

Since first launching in 2022, Asda has rapidly grown its Express footprint. Almost 500 Asda Express stores are expected to be open by the end of the year, with a strong pipeline of new stores also planned for 2026.

The new store offers over 3,000 branded and own-label products, covering every base from quick ‘top-up’ shop to lunch on the go.

Open daily between 6am – 11pm, the stores will offer a comprehensive range of fresh, ambient and chilled groceries, as well as a broad selection of beers, wines and spirits.

Customers will also benefit from a variety of services, including Costa Coffee Machine, an ATM machine, and Amazon collections & returns. To make shopping even more convenient, on-demand food delivery options such as Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo will also be available.

Each new Express store will also feature electronic shelf edge labels (ESLs) from day one, helping to simplify operations for colleagues and boost customer experience, the group said.
