  • Trump to run Gaza with Blair: Donald Trump will run Gaza with the assistance of Sir Tony Blair as part of the US president’s 20-point plan for ‘eternal peace in the Middle East’. Trump said on Monday that he would oversee a transitional government in the Strip as the head of a new body called the Board of Peace, which Blair would also sit on.   • Labour refuses to rule out manifesto-breaking tax rises: Downing Street has opened the door for Labour to break its election promises and raise taxes in the Budget, as Chancellor Rachel Reeves told critics in the party to stop peddling the “dangerous” idea that she can relax fiscal discipline. Darren Jones, the prime minister’s chief secretary, refused to rule out the possibility that Reeves would break Labour’s manifesto pledge to not increase income tax, value added tax or national insurance rates.   • Tax rises could further fuel inflation as shop prices jump: Retailers have told the government that tax rises could further fuel inflation as the pace of shop price rises stepped up in September, with increases on home improvement and gardening goods offsetting stabilising food prices. Annual shop price inflation rose to 1.4% in September, up from 0.9% in August, according to the latest monthly report from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and analysts NIQ. [Guardian]
  • New online NHS hospital service to launch by 2027: An NHS online hospital service will be launched in England within two years to help cut waiting times the Prime Minister is set to announce Prime Minister Keir Starmer will tell the Labour Party annual conference a “new world is coming” as he sets out plans for the digital service. NHS Online will have its own dedicated doctors and nurses who will take charge of patients who choose to use the service.
  • On Tuesday, Oil was trading lower at $66.72. The pound is trading at $1.34, €1.15, and ¥9.58.
