  • Trump signs agreement with Starmer: Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing US government agencies to implement his trade deal with the UK. The president’s order will operationalise the US-UK agreement, under which Trump agreed to cut a 27.5% American tariff on cars to 10% for the first 100,000 vehicles shipped from the UK each year.   • Reeves to look at reversing tax changes: The Treasury is reviewing the decision to abolish the tax break for non-domiciled residents amid a wave of wealthy individuals departing and lobbying from the City of London. The regime would be changed if it were found to aid Britain’s international competitiveness, a government official said [Bloomberg]
  • Parliament to decriminalise abortion: A law change aimed at decriminalising abortion will be debated in the House of Commons on Tuesday. Two Labour MPs, Tonia Antoniazzi and Stella Creasy, have tabled rival amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill. Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle could pick one or both amendments to be debated by MPs, but is likely to only pick one to go to a vote. [BBC]
  • Concern over patients filming: NHS staff have voiced concern about the growing numbers of patients who are filming themselves undergoing medical treatment and uploading it to TikTok and Instagram. Radiographers, who take X-rays and scans, fear the trend could compromise the privacy of other patients being treated nearby and lead to staff having their work discussed online. [Guardian]
  • Oil is slightly lower around the $69.60 a barrel market after reports of continued fighting in the Middle East. The pound was trading at £1.36 to the dollar, £1.17 to the euro and £9.74 to the yuan.
