  • Tariff discussions to take place in London: A new round of talks aimed at resolving a trade war between the US and China is set to take place in London on Monday. US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that a senior US delegation would meet Chinese representatives. Over the weekend, Beijing confirmed that Vice Premier He Lifeng will attend the talks.   • All eyes on Rachel Reeves: Much of the focus will be on the Chancellor this week as she sets out the government’s spending plans until the next general election. Early reports show that Reeves will focus heavily on Defence and Health spending, while councils and courts are set to see a further squeeze. [Financial Times]
  • Top police bosses send warning to Reeves: Ahead of the spending review, top police bosses have warned that underpaid and overworked officers are leaving in droves, while forces are being left with no choice but to cut numbers to save money.
